Houthi militia has announced the death of four Yemeni children during their participation in military operations, alongside the militias, in their battles against the Yemeni army in Al-Jawf Governorate, northeastern Yemen. The militia has indicated that the four children’s bodies were buried in their hometown of Bart Al Anan District.
According to Houthi media, the dead children ranged in age from 12 to 13 and came from the same family, noting that their funeral was held on Saturday after they were killed in battles a few days ago.
Al-Houthi’s announcement comes after Yemeni human rights organizations have revealed that Houthi militias violated the childhood of about 500,000 Yemeni children in the past period. The organizations have noted that violations included the recruitment of children on the front lines, despite warnings of the danger of such practices.
The Siaj Organization for the Defense of Children has pointed out that the data so far indicated that the militias had recruited half a million children, and called on the militias to stop recruiting children in the country immediately.
Simultaneously, Yemeni sources confirmed that the Yemeni army fought strong battles against the Houthi militias backed by IRGC on Sunday, in Al-Bayda Governorate. Yemeni army battalions have regained control of several positions in the Al-Humayqan areas in Al-Zahir district, west of Al-Bayda Governorate, the sources said.
