While cold battles are taking place west of Libya between the national army and the GNA forces, the President of Tunisian Parliament and the leader of the Al-Nahda Movement Rashid Ghannouchi defending the GNA. Meanwhile, several voices denounced Ghannouchi’s position towards the MB; a few days ago, the Bloc of the Free Constitutional Party in Parliament had submitted an indictment to classify the MB as a terrorist organization. Earlier, people demonstrated against the policy of Ghannouchi and his relations with Turkey and Qatar.
Providing Political Cover
Analysts believe that Ghannouchi’s role is providing a political cover to the movement’s political wing that is active in a wider geographical area than Tunisia, to include Libya and Algeria.
Tunisian lawyers who carried out investigation to find the suspects who assassinated the left wing leader Chokri Belaid and the nationalist Mohammad al-Barahimi; have obtained documents that reveal the hidden links between terrorist organizations in Tunisia and terrorist organizations in other Arab countries such as Libya.
The documents revealed that Abdelaziz Daghsni, the brother-in-law of Rashid Ghannouchi, is linked with vital files such as sending more than 3000 Tunisians to hotbeds of tension in the east.
The documents that were leaked this year revealed that since 2011, the armed wing of the Al-Nahda Movement has, worked as a link between the Egypt MBs and Libya’s MBs, in addition to the terrorist organizations in Syria and Iraq, amid generous financial and logistical support from Turkey and Qatar.
Judicial Charges
Al-Nahda Movement is facing many judicial charges of possessing a secret apparatus and it was responsible for the assassination of the leftist leader, Chokri Belaid on February 6, 2013, and the nationalist leader, Mohamed Brahmi, on July 25, 2013. According to the documents obtained by the Defense Authority, there is evidence that some MB leaders in Tunisia and their clandestine organization are accumulating weapons and are linked to the weapons depots discovered in 2012 in the Medenine Governorate that share borders with Libya.
The armed wing of the Al-Nahda Movement includes leaders who were trained before the conduct terrorist operations, similar to the operation Suleiman (an area in Tripoli suburbs), where dozens of terrorist clashed with the security forces in 2006.
According to information, the terrorist members, the terrorist members who carried out those operations have joined the movement after 2011.
Poisoning the Relation
The Tunisian deputy for the Free Constitutional Bloc Abeer Moussa, addressed to “Ghannouchi” during one of the plenary sessions by saying: “You have links with the Muslim Brotherhood, although it is internationally t classified as a terrorist organization. We are ashamed of being in one Parliament with you; you belong to the MB that revived the assassination’s policy in Tunisia.
Observers and opinion leaders in Tunisia confirm that the Al-Nahda practices will poison relations between the parties and might lead to the collapse of the ruling coalition, which will cause an unneeded crisis in the country.
