The Iranian-backed Yemeni Houthi militia are preparing to carry out new mass executions in Sanaa, sentenced are eleven people, two of them women, carried out based on charges of espionage.
Media sources have indicated that the militia, through trials under their control, issued an order to execute eleven detainees on charges of espionage, and to confiscate their money. According to what Asharq Al-Awsat newspaper reported, among those threatened with execution are two women, Hanan Al-Shahdi and Altaf Al-Matari.
It is noteworthy that the militias carried out a horrific massacre in Sana’a, the capital, on September 18. Nine detainees were executed by firing squad.
On September 19, Moammar Al-Eryani, Yemeni Information Minister revealed that the militia informed the families of the nine victims that they had a short deadline to vacate their homes in order for all their property of land, real estate and money to be confiscated. The militia also told the families to hand over 3 million Yemeni riyals for each victim in return for the costs of the case, in implementation of the ruling, issued by the court under Houthi’s control.
