Iran has resumed uranium enrichment operations at the Natanz facility days after the explosion inside it, Ali Akbar Salehi, head of the Iranian Atomic Energy Organization, announced on Friday.
Salehi pointed out that Iranian scientists were able to obtain 60% of the enriched uranium.
“I am proud to announce that at exactly 00:40 last night, young and pious Iranian scientists were able to obtain a uranium product enriched with 60%,” the Speaker of the Iranian Parliament said, in a tweet on his official Twitter page.
“Congratulations to the brave people of Iran for this success, the will of the Iranian people works miracles and will thwart any conspiracy.” he added
“We will stop uranium enrichment by twenty and sixty percent in the event that sanctions on Iran are lifted,” Hassan Rouhani the Iranian President said on Thursday. He added that if Washington returns to the nuclear deal, Iran’s enrichment rate will not be higher than 3.67 percent.
